Before starting Causes Up he founded Really American, a social media based company with a mission of protecting truth, democracy, social justice the environment. He grew Really American from 0 to 900,000+ Facebook fans in just under 3 years before selling it in 2018. While Nathan was at the helm, Really American regularly produced more engagement on Facebook than the New York Times, the Washington Post, NBC News and Bernie Sanders, enabling them to reach between 7%-10% of the US population on a monthly basis.

Starting as a filmmaker, Ben’s digital communications career has aided environmental and social justice efforts for 20 years. Ben runs successful digital efforts for dozens of non-profits and campaigns – everything from email campaigns to video ads to petitions. His work has led to the preservation of key climate crisis laws, expansion for renewable energy across the country, and country-wide and state-wide and plastic bag bans.
